More color choices for the widget items

The palette choices there are pretty good overall, but are rather limiting. It would be really nice to have, at least for background color where you already have custom options, either a wider-range palette, or (better yet/much preferred) just add a "custom" or "advanced" color option with a color picker, or even a simple edit box for #RGB values. I'm using the darkest green and darkest blue you have, but they're still not nearly as dark as they could be, and stand out a lot against the rest of the page (I have very dark background).

Also I understand and can appreciate the intended simplicity of only having black and white for text colors, but being able to have colored text over transparent background would provide for many more esthetic choices better fitting personal tastes, and make the widget even more competitive.
